Hamming it up for the web site. Had to get things going and there was a lot of work and very little help, no money and no time. I started out by emailing McDonalds and letting them know I was on their side. No response. I then marched into the local McDonalds to ask the Manager, one of a dozen it seems, if I could film in the store. Well, SuperSizeMe must have caused an email to go out because this girls eyes just widened and she could not get enough "ah... no","absolutely not","Can not do that here", phrases out and she seemed lost. I wasn't robbing the place! She's a nice girl and I caught her off guard I am sure of that. Look at me, would you expect me to come up and ask "could I shoot a documentary here, OK?" Is she thinking "SHOOT?" "SHOOT WHAT?" "NO" Called a doctor I know and respect for advice. She was not very interested to tell the truth. I hope to prove her wrong but I think she may never change. Damn medical degree! I took her advice however and decided not to be stupid, so I will take a multi vitamin. "I would just love it if you change your mind doc." Called an McDonalds area manager to get film approval, she sounded like the other Manager's twin sister. "Is it something I said?" Very direct and professional but courteous and gave me the owners phone number. Mr. G. was very nice and educated me on the fact that he is a franchisee, and therefore does not own the brand. I needed to talk to Ronald himself for that. I asked for a connection but he didn't know one. You'd think that for all that money you spend on a license to run a McDonalds, they would give you a phone book. Ya see Morgan, you buzzard, becuase of yopur movie they had to cut back on printing phone books for owners. Probably because they don't sell Super Sized Meals anymore.
